Account and billing
Everything about the account behind your channel: how you sign in, the email confirmation you need to go live, and how billing works. Account settings live in Dashboard → Account.
Signing up and signing in
You can sign in two ways, and both reach the same account:
- Email and password. Passwords are at least 8 characters.
- Google. One click with your Google account.
One sign-in covers everything: the dashboard, the docs, and the studio share your session, so logging into the web app also signs you into the studio. If the studio ever asks you to sign in, it sends you to the web login and picks your session up automatically when you are done.
Each account has exactly one channel, created for you at signup.
Confirm your email
Going live requires a confirmed email. You get a confirmation email at signup; click its link and you are done. The link lasts 24 hours. If it expired or never arrived, use Resend verification on Dashboard → Account → Email (the studio also shows a resend banner until you are verified).
Changing your email address (same Account tab) sends a fresh confirmation to the new address.
Passwords and signing out
- Forgot your password? Use Forgot password on the login page. The reset link lasts 1 hour.
- Want to change it? Dashboard → Account → Security.
- Sign out is at the top of the Account page. Signing out, resetting, or changing your password signs out every device on your account (a password change keeps the device you did it from), which is also the fix if you ever signed in on a machine you no longer trust.
How billing works
Every new account starts with a 7-day free trial, no card required. What each plan includes is covered in Pricing and plans; this section is the mechanics.
- Subscribe. Dashboard → Account → Subscription, pick Pro or Elite. Checkout is handled by Stripe; your card details never touch Breakcastr’s servers.
- Upgrade. Moving up a tier (Pro to Elite) applies immediately, and Stripe prorates the difference on the card on file.
- Cancel, downgrade, change card, or view invoices. Hit Manage subscription on the same page. It opens your Stripe billing portal, where all of those live, including every receipt and invoice.
- Failed payment? The Subscription page tells you, and updating your card in the billing portal sets it right.
When a trial or subscription ends
Nothing you built is deleted, ever. Your channel, templates, and break history stay put; you just cannot go on air until you subscribe again. The dashboard shows a subscribe banner, and the studio is locked until your plan is active. If you come back to a downgraded plan, a template that uses features above it is flagged with the exact reasons so you can edit it down or upgrade. See Pricing and plans.
If a plan change happens mid-break, nothing changes on stream: a live break always finishes under the plan it started with.
Deleting your account
There is no self-serve delete yet. Email support@breakcastr.com from your account email and we will take care of it.
